Get Creative To Make Money Online

Let’s face it, you need to keep your blog fresh and regularly updated to maintain its readership! Therefore, you must always find fresh topics to write about, and we’re going to discuss how to do just that in this article. After all, you are running a business (or investigating doing so) and want to make money online, right?
So, what is your passion? Writing about a topic that you feel passionate about and have a great deal of interest in is a great place to start. Remember, you are reading this right now because you have made a conscious choice to investigate new methods for income generation on the side. Or, you may have already made the decision to jump in and make money online as your career. The idea is to take advantage of the emotional drivers that brought you here in the first place. You’ve already chosen to incorporate the internet and blogging as key components of your career because you want to escape that mundane job where you are simply trading time for money.
Now, start writing about the experience of taking on this wonderful change in your life. It’s really that simple. On the other hand, forcing yourself to write about something that you’re not interested in is arguably worse than going to work at that mundane job. Nothing comes out, the page is blank…and maybe you’ll just watch those American Idol reruns that you stored on Tivo…procrastination sets in. You need to write about what you know and share your experience.
The other reason I ask you to write about something you’re passionate about is because your feelings and emotions will show through in your writing! If you feel indifferent to a certain subject but still write about it just for the sake of it, your readers will notice it. Remember the advice about writing with a personality? Forcing yourself to write will not establish a welcoming style at all.
Once you have chosen your main theme, start posting to your blog about it and make it a habit to post at least once every day or so, even if it’s only a comment on the newspaper article you read today. Think about how you can tie events and experiences in your town/life back to your main theme and start writing. You are like one of those huge freight trains that take a lot of effort to get moving initially, but then you start going faster and faster. And, the nice thing is the momentum will pay dividends as you begin to make money online. Once you get this system going, it will take less effort than you think to maintain speed.
However, no matter how well you know your topic, your brain is bound to get exhausted at times, so here are methods to brainstorm content for your blog.
1) The very best way to brainstorm is to see what other bloggers currently have to say about stuff happening in your field of discussion. You can do this by typing in “blog search” in Google or by visiting Technorati online. There are other decent blog information sites, just look around. From other blogs, you can gather more knowledge on your subject and you can also comment on what others have to say on your own blog.
2) Once you’ve established contacts with other bloggers in your field, you’ll have quite a conversation going on, so you won’t need to actively search for content to write about as much. However, if you’re still stuck, search for news articles related to your niche in the local newspaper or online through the news sites at Google and Yahoo.
3) You can also have conversations with people with the same interest as you in the particular niche you choose, so you will eventually build up a bank of questions and answers and interesting discussions to write about in your blog. To do this, join forums related to your niche, but don’t join every forum there is out there. Stick with one or two with the biggest number of members or the one which is most focused on your niche. This will also come in handy much later in gaining traffic and generating profits.
4) Lastly, one of my favorites is to get involved in mind mapping. This is a tremendous way to get creative in a non-linear fashion with images that you create on line. Mind mapping can serve to aggregate your thoughts to produce an outline and content. Easier than you think, there are several free mind mapping programs you can download or establish a free account with online. Do a Google search on “free mind mapping” and you’ll find it all.
Remember to keep up your momentum of posting at least once every couple of days (or more if you have a lot of content to write about) so that the major search engines will know that your blog has fresh content on a regular basis, thus gaining you extra traffic.
For now, remember to keep a consistent effort everyday and build your momentum. You are a huge freight train of creativity and ideas, let it out and you’ll make money online on a consistent basis.

What Is Niche Marketing, and Do I Need It?

In marketing, a niche refers to a service or a product that occupies a special area of demand.  It is that small corner in the market that accounts for a certain kind of specialty concerning an unmet customer need.  To be able to attract a strong, solid market, the choice of a niche product should ultimately complement the website one owns.  It is through this scheme that he is able to generate a specific market for the niche product he is trying to sell.

Niches are involved in niche marketing, the process of finding market segments that are small but potentially profitable nonetheless.  To maintain a profitable quantity of sales, this marketing strategy relies on increasing the loyalty of customers so that their corporate objectives will be met or surpassed.  Illustrative of this is the fact that the quality of the product or service sold will generate customer satisfaction and, consequently, customer loyalty.  The result is profitability garnered through a solid market base that trusts in the ability of the product or service to really deliver.

One of the great things about niche marketing is that it encourages those who indulge in it to be unique and one-of-a-kind.  Here one is not forced into the lion’s den and made to compete against established marketers.  He is made to occupy a strong and secure position that ultimately wins him a real place in the market.  Niche marketing differs from other online marketing strategies because this particular quality allows it to operate almost autonomously and without having to contend with corporate sharks that tear each other to pieces.

How To Discover Your Niche Market (Part 2)

You’ve almost completed your research on your target market. You have done research on the search engines and you’ve even visited news sites. There are just a few more ways you want to check out your potential target market in order to get the full picture.
The third way for you to do research is by finding trade magazines or newsletters (ezines) on your keywords or topics related to your target market.
By doing this, you’ll learn about the problems or issues that pertain to that market. If you live near a bookstore you may want to find magazines that relate to your market and look at the table of contents for news stories. Take note of the articles that deal with issues your potential target market is having.
You’ll also learn what products they like and what products they don’t. Sometimes you’ll even catch people in your potential target market offering ways to improve existing products. This is where the light bulb over your head should come on because now you have ideas for a new product.
Internet marketing guru Mike Filsaime even said the idea for one of his products came about from reading comments from people in an Internet forum. People were posting ways a particular product could be improved. Mike took their ideas and created a product with it. His millionaire dollar idea came from people in his target market!
This brings us to the next place you’ll want to do research-discussion forums. Find out where your potential target audience likes to hang out. You’ll want to get to know these people who may very well become your future customers. You’ll want to “lurk” and watch the conversations and note the issues and problems that come up repeatedly. You can also do a survey or pose a question to the people about what they think about certain topics, issues and or products.
You can do a search for your market in discussion forums such as Yahoo and MSN groups.
The last way to do research is to use a keyword research tool, like Wordtracker. You can explore the words your target market is typing into the search engines. Here you will discover issues and or problems they want solved by the kind of words they type. You’ll find a lot of details about your potential customers that you would have never known if you had not done your keyword research.
You can also learn about the competition that exist in your market and even learn the size of your potential customer base-at least online
Keyword research is a great method to use because you’ll know what keywords your target market is using which in turn, reveals their needs and interests. Once you figure out what these words are, you can go to the websites that cater to those needs and see how those sites fulfill or don’t fulfill those needs. This is where you can come in and dominate that market.
Keyword research does take some time to do, but it’s worth the effort.
Once you’ve think you’ve identified your market, you want to make sure they are actively looking for a solution to a problem. There must also be a big enough market for you to provide a solution for as well.
Lastly, you want to check and see if the solution, your product or service, is something that can be easily sold over the Internet i.e. people will buy it over the Internet.
Once you’ve done your research and everything checks out ok, you’ll want to start thinking of how you can develop a product or improve upon an existing product that solves the problems of your target market. See how simple the steps are to discover your niche market? Now get to it.

Five Things to Consider Before Working at Home

The first step is to be honest with yourself during the decision-making process. The last thing you want is to change your life only to find out you’ve made a mistake.

1. Do you have small children and can you work with them at home? If you think you can, try it out first. Sit down at your computer and start typing a detailed letter to a friend. How many times are you interrupted? Will your children understand that when mom or dad is at work, they can not interrupt? And how strict do plan to be about enforcing rules that your children cannot bother you while your working? Many first-time work-at-homers vastly miscalculate how difficult it is to get anything done with children—even your little angels—in the house.

2. Do you have the right personality? Sure, working at home sounds wonderful and it certainly can be. No boss breathing down your neck, no co-workers coming by your cubicle to bore you with the mundane minutiae of their lives. Pure bliss, right? But are you a person who can ignore the grass that needs cutting? Is that refrigerator filled with leftovers calling your name? Is the unending silence of working at home going to drive you crazy? Some people simply cannot work at home and most don’t realize they can’t until they try it.

Profiting 101
It aint easy bein’ green
We live in one of the most exciting times. Never before have there been so many opportunities – so many different paths to create wealth. Traditionally, getting rich required certain prerequisites to be in order. You had to be in the right place at the right time and have the resources to take advantage of the situation. For instance, maybe you were given a large inheritance. This money could be spent on an investment, an education, or a new venture. Perhaps you had a product or an idea that had just the right timing and it took off. Maybe your family had a business, and it was handed down to you. It could be a connection that you have. A friend who knows someone that gets you a job, or gets you recognized for something. But these days, there are more and more ways to be successful. And its the internet that makes these opportunities available for the rest of us. For most, the saying “It isnt what you know, but who you know,” really rings true. This is because it’s what they are told and it’s what they believe, fundamentally. But it is exactly this mindset that is holding you back from achieving success.
Chances are you have found this site because you are unhappy with your current situation. Maybe you are stuck in a dead end job, maybe you are even between jobs. Perhaps you have a family to support and are looking for alternative options. We all share a common goal here. And that is to improve our current situation.
Finding a niche
To get started making money online you have to establish a plan. If you already have some type of business in the real world, this plan could involve setting up your website to represent your business. You could either use it as a type of “face” for your business online, or a store with which to broaden your customer base. More and more people are using the internet instead of the phone book. A business without a web presence is a business that is struggling.
But chances are you are starting from scratch. And in many ways this can be even more exciting and profitable. Selling products definitely has its place. After all the world is dependent on goods. But in terms of starting out and making money for yourself, your best strategy would be to sell information. Especially if we are concerned with keeping start up costs low.
So ask yourself some questions. What am I good at? What are some of my hobbies? What is it that I know really well. If I had to engage in conversation, what topics could I talk endlessly about? These are the areas that you should really concentrate on. Once you have an idea of what interests you, start brain storming. How do you want to go about sharing this idea with others? Remember, you don’t always have to have a product or service to offer. Many websites, such as this one, offer information and if you are able to attract a group of people and create a community, you will begin to profit. I will show you how this works in Profiting 102.
An example of this is blogging. Blogging has taken the world by storm and there are many successful bloggers who live off the income from their site. We will talk more about just how they do this a little bit later. Blogging is a more personal type of information sharing. It is often succesful because even as they grow in popularity, they still retain a personal touch. The thing to remember here is, keep things unique and personal. Convey your enthusiasm to your audience! If you are truly passionate about something, you will get people excited.
Finding your online identity
Of course in order to have a web presence you must have a domain. Getting a good domain name is imperative because it will represent your business, and often, it will have the largest impact on conveying your business message. Your domain should represent what you are all about. Unfortunately though, domains are few and far between these days. Take the time to sit down and come up with many domains. On paper, write down all the domains that you could actually imagine yourself using for your business. This is an important step because you don’t know what is going to be available. Of course few of the domains you come up with will be available, so try to be creative. There are actually several “Domain Name Generators” on the web that you can use. You simply plug in your business ideas, and they spit out domain names.
Another option would be to go with a free website. The only downside is that you would have to share your domain with the service provider and it will reduce your brand image. Image is certainly important, but if start up funds are critically low, this is a viable option. Later after your make a little money, you can re-brand your business. One of the places you can get a free website from is Angelfire/lycos.
Grabbing your piece of the virtual world
Take your list of domain names and sit down at your computer. Go to a site such as DomainSearch, and begin checking for domain name availability. Most of the really good “dot coms” are already taken so don’t be afraid to experiment with other types of urls, such as .net, .org, and even .tv. It is common that these alternative domains are even cheaper than the .coms. Once you find something that is available, grab it! Domains are snatched up all the time, so this isn’t the kind of thing you want to put off. Some sites, such as BlueHost (www.bluehost.com/track/pfti), even offer a free domain for life with the purchase of hosting (which you would need to buy anyway). This is a particularly good deal because after the first two years, the price for your domain goes up significantly. And you have to renew it annually. Locking in your domain for life (assuming you keep your website that long) will end up saving you thousands of dollars.
Now that you have decided on a concept and domain, we will discuss ways to begin generating revenue…
